Kernaghan Op-ed in WWD

Women's Wear Daily, North America's largest apparel industry publication-with a Twitter following of 2.2 million-asked Charlie Kernaghan to write an op-ed regarding labor rights abuses in the garment industry.  Kernaghan writes that corporate codes of conduct are a smokescreen.  Sweatshop abuses will only end when workers are afforded their internationally recognized worker rights.  Just as corporations have demanded and won laws to protect their garments and trademarks, workers need strong legal protections for their fundamental rights.

The piece appears in today's Women's Wear Daily.
