A Sweatshop Victory ─ GAP agreed to independent third party monitoring


The Institute launched a year-long campaign against the GAP for the harsh treatment of workers in the factories of GAP contractors in Central America. The campaign mobilized an unprecedented coalition of labor, religious, student and community groups across the country and culminated when the GAP became the first apparel company to agree to independent third party monitoring of its overseas contracting operations.
