China's Youth Meet Microsoft

Chinese teenagers toil excessive hours for poverty wages as they manufacture the Microsoft peripherals we use.

The Institute's exposé of Microsoft's use of child labor in KYE factory in China in 2010 generated massive media coverage in both TV stories and print media. The media coverage was so widespread and embarrassing that the Chinese government was even compelled to announce that they would shut down the KYE factory within two weeks if the violations were not immediately corrected.
