1. 320 Percent Mark-up:

Shipping documents show that on May 10, 2000, 7,500 pairs of Kohl's Style YB2130 carpenter shorts made in the Chentex factory in Nicaragua arrived in the Port of Miami with a total landed Customs value of $53,603, or $7.15 per pair.

Kohl's retail price of $34 for these jeans represents a 320 percent mark-up.

2. 195 Percent Mark-up:

Internal company production records smuggled out of the Chentex factory show that in May of 2000, 36,754 pairs of Kohl's Style YB3150 carpenter jeans were sewn on production line #7. (Note: The RN, or Registration Number RN 73277 which by law must identify the manufacturer, is owned by Kohl's.)

Shipping documents show 29,155 pairs of Kohl's carpenter jeans sewn in the Chentex factory in Nicaragua and carrying the exact same Style number, YB3150, arriving in Port Everglades, Florida on June 10, 2000, with a total landed Customs value of $335,770--$11.52 per pair of jeans.

Kohl's retail price of $34 for these jeans represents a 195 percent mark-up.
